Homeopathic Medicines For Treatment of High Levels of Creatine and BUN (Blood Urea Nitrogen)
How to treat High Creatinine and Blood Urea Nitrogen with Homeopathy ?
Healthy kidneys remove wastes and excess
fluid from the blood. Blood and urine tests show how well the kidneys are doing
their job and how quickly body wastes are being removed.
What is Blood urea nitrogen (BUN) Test?
BUN (Blood urea nitrogen) is a
medical test that is used to measure the amount of urea nitrogen in the blood. Urea
nitrogen is one of the waste products removed from blood by kidneys. Higher
than normal BUN levels may be a sign that kidneys are not working efficiently. If kidneys are not able to remove urea from
the blood normally, BUN level rises.
Heart failure, dehydration, or a diet high in
protein can also make BUN level higher.
Normal range of urea
nitrogen in blood or serum is 5 to 20 mg/dl, or 1.8 to 7.1 mmol urea per liter.
Therefore, BUN (Blood Urea Nitrogen) test is performed to monitor for kidney health and effectiveness of treatment in those
who already have established kidney disease.
The BUN (Blood Urea Nitrogen) test is primarily
used, along with the creatinine test to evaluate kidney function, as well as to
monitor people with acute or chronic kidney dysfunction or kidney
failure.
Other names for a BUN test:
Urea nitrogen test, serum BUN.
What is Creatinine:
Creatinine is a waste product formed by the
normal breakdown of muscle cells. Healthy kidneys take creatinine out of the
blood and put it into the urine to leave the body. Elevated creatinine level
signifies impaired kidney function or kidney disease.
Creatinine
levels in the blood can vary depending on age, race and body size. A creatinine
level of greater than 1.2 for women and greater than 1.4 for men may be an
early sign that the kidneys are not working properly.
Any condition that impairs the function of
the kidneys also raises the level of creatinine in the blood. So it is
important to recognize whether the process leading to kidney dysfunction (kidney
failure) is chronic (longstanding) or recent. Recent elevations may be more
easily treated and reversed.
The most common causes of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) are High blood pressure and diabetes.
Other causes of elevated blood creatinine
levels are:
- Certain drugs.
- Nutrition,
like after consuming so much meat.
- Kidney infections, abnormal muscle
breakdown and urinary tract obstruction may also elevate creatinine
levels.
Normal
levels of creatinine in the blood are
approximately 0.6 to 1.2 milligrams (mg) per deciliter (dL) in adult males and
0.5 to 1.1 milligrams per deciliter in adult females.
Serum Urea:
Urea is a waste product
formed in the liver that travels through blood to the kidneys, which then
filters it out of the blood. It is then carried out of body through
urine.
Too much urea shows that it
is not being filtered out properly and may indicate a possible problem with the
kidneys.
Measurement of serum urea
has been used for many years as an indicator of kidney function.
However, urea
measurement, in conjunction creatinine measurement, may still provide useful
clinical information in particular circumstances.
Normal Levels of Serum Urea:
Women < 50 year 15-40 mg/dL
Women > 50 years 21-43 mg/dL
